These CT Communities Most Affected By Power Outages, Toppled Trees

Some 19,000 Eversource customers are still without power early due to a powerful storm that moved across the region on Sunday, Nov. 15.

As of 8:30 a.m., Monday, Nov. 16, the company is reporting 19,021 of 1,282,551 customers across the region without power.

Some of the highest outages remained in Darien with 1,707, Norwalk with 1,190, Westport with 884, Greenwich with 783, Wilton with 764, and Bethel with 278 as of 8:30 a.m., Monday.

United Illuminating had 258 customers still without power as of 9 a.m. Monday, with the most in Easton (116), followed by Bridgeport (46).

The storms swept across the state Sunday night, with fierce winds as high as 61 mph, and heavy rains that brought down trees and power lines. 

In addition, many roads are impassable due to downed trees, limbs, and utility wires. 

In Westport, Sherwood Island State Park is closed Monday due to storm damage. Crews are currently on scene working to repair the damage.

Police across Fairfield County has issued warnings to motorists urging caution.
